The Close Up Is a Showbiz Special Report of thirty-minute mini-documentaries which each showcase a well known South African showbiz personality. The show features intimate interviews conducted by Nicky Greenwall coupled with never before seen images and footage of the celebrity's rise to fame. Among the performers featured in the first season of the series; pop-duo Locnville, songstress Simphiwe Dana, actor Kenneth Nkosi, Flash Republic front-woman Tamara Dey, DJ Black Coffee, rapper Jack Parow and model and socialite Lee-Anne Liebenberg. The show replaces The Showbiz Report on e.tv on Saturdays at 7:30pm from the 20th of August 2011 - 1st October 2011 and is broadcast to the rest of Africa on the eNews Channel (403 DSTV) premiering at 10:30pm on Saturdays.
